Chapter 394 Yelling at Your Wife in Front of Everyone, You're Quite Something

Alaric trailed behind Cormac back to his place. Maybe sspace between Alaric and Stellan would do them

good.

"Hey, | just snagged skiller coffee. Lewhip you up a cup," Cormac said, heading straight to the kitchen

as soon as they walked in. Alaric plopped down on the couch, feeling wiped. Today's treatment had hit him hard.

Even after a nap, he still felt like crap-dizzy and queasy.

Cormac cback with the coffee and noticed Alaric looking rough. He quickly set the cup down and asked,

"Dude, you okay? Feeling sick again?"

Alaric sighed, "Nah, just had a treatment shot today. It was pretty intense."

Cormac raised an eyebrow, "Another shot today?"

"Yeah," Alaric said, "I crashed after the shot. Otherwise, no way I'd let her go alone today."

"Gotcha," Cormac nodded.

"Since you just had a shot, maybe skip the coffee. I'll grab you swater," Cormac suggested.

Alaric waved him off, "Don't bother. | don't want anything."

Cormac sat down across from him, giving up on the fussing. "If you're really feeling bad, you should probably lie

down and rest."

Alaric shook his head, "I've slept too much today. Can't sleep anymore."

"It's been rough, man. Your mom just passed, and now the company's a mess," Cormac said, clearly frustrated.

If Alaric took care of himself, he'd be back to normal in six months, but lately, it felt like everything was falling

apart.

"I've got smood stabilizers that won't mess with your treatment. Want one? But heads up, they can be

addictive. You take one now, you might want them every tyou're down," Cormac, being a shrink, had meds

for days. Alaric waved him off again, "No thanks. I've been popping pills for years because of this aftereffect. I'm

over it. Unless | absolutely have to, I'm done with meds."

He was seriously sick of the meds. It felt like his life was just one long treatment, one pill after another, one shot

after another.

Cormac got it. When his body was a mess, his mood was gonna be trash, especially with everything going on.

"Your aftereffects are getting better. Just hang in there for five more months, and once you're fully recovered, no

more meds," Cormac said.

Alaric didn't say anything. He didn't even want to think about recovery anymore. He was just gonna let things

play out.

He closed his eyes, trying to calm down. After a bit, he opened them and asked, "I'll crash here tonight. What

about Rowena?"

Cormac replied, "I told her. She's with Galatea tonight."

"Good." Alaric felt better knowing Rowena was with Stellan. He wouldn't be cool with leaving Stellan alone.

"How's Aurora doing? Is she boarding at school now, coming honce a week?" Alaric asked.

"She's swamped. Might not even chonce a month," Cormac said, "Classes all week, and on weekends,

she's tutoring kids from her old middle school. Her sessions are pricey." Hearing that, Alaric couldn't help but

grin. "Aurora's really something else."

Cormac beamed with pride. "Yeah, she's a rockstar. She toldshe aced the entrance exam again, top of her

grade. Can you believe it? She skipped to 11th grade and still crushed it. That's wild, right?" "Super impressive."

Alaric couldn't help but smile at Cormac's proud look. "So, how are things with you and Rowena? You guys

patched things up?"

Cormac nodded, "Oh, | haven't told you yet. Not only did we make up, but we also got hitched. We're officially

married."

Alaric blinked in surprise. "Already married? That was fast."

Cormac shrugged, "We're in our thirties, man, not kids anymore. We decided to be together, so we just went for

it."

Alaric nodded. "Makes sense. You guys have known each other forever, breaking up and getting back together.

It's awesyou end up together. Congrats."

Cormac grinned. "Yeah, fate's been good to us. I'm really happy now."

After the Nash family went under, he thought his life was over. But then he met Aurora, his little angel, and got

back with Rowena. He was genuinely content and had no complaints.

Alaric chuckled, "That's great. Have another kid, and with Aurora, you'll have a perfect little family. I'm kinda

jealous."

Cormac playfully punched him. "Jealous? Dude, you married an amazing woman and have triplets. Every guy out

there envies you. Don't be ungrateful."

Alaric smiled. Yeah, he was pretty lucky.

Cormac said, "Blowing off steam is fine, but you gotta apologize. If you want a happy marriage, no matter what

the fight's about, the guy's gotta say sorry first."

Cormac added, "Honestly, since you got married, your temper's gotten way better. Keep it up, and make sure to

apologize to Galatea tomorrow. You made her cry in front of everyone at the hospital. Not cool, man." "I know."

Alaric had already cooled off, and hearing Cormac, he realized he had crossed a line.

Back in his room, Alaric wanted to call Stellan but hesitated for a long tand never dialed the number.

In the end, he sent Stellan a message: [Galatea, I'm sorry for what | said at the hospital today.]

Stellan was about to sleep when she got the message. Seeing it, she felt a mix of emotions.

Stellan: [It was my fault too, for making you mad. | won't act on my own again. I'm sorry, Alaric.] Seeing her

reply, Alaric felt a bit more at ease and replied with two words: [Good night.]

[Good night,] Stellan replied.

"Was that from Mr. Knight?" Rowena guessed, seeing Stellan's expression.

Stellan nodded. "Yeah."

"| told you, it's normal for couples to argue. It's weird if they don't. Now, get srest. Look at you, your eyes

are all puffy from crying," Rowena said.

Hearing this, Stellan quickly touched her eyes, and Rowena added, "But even with puffy eyes, you're still

gorgeous."

Stellan smiled shyly, then lay down with Rowena. Sleeping with a friend was comforting.

Stellan really hoped that after a good night's sleep, all these bad vibes would just disappear.
