Chapter 51 Caspian and Harry Finally Meet

"What's up, Caspian? Are you crying?" Cormac was taken aback at the sight. ‘Caspian crying?"

Harry said nothing until they were in the car, and then he directed, "Taketo the WonderJoy Mall near the

hospital." "The mall?"

But at Harry's insistence, Cormac complied. Once at the mall, Harry said, "I need salone time. Don't follow

me." Harry disappeared into the restroom, leaving Cormac dumbfounded.

'How old is this kid? Wanting alone time?"

Once inside the restroom, Harry dialed Caspian's number. Caspian was helping Elisa with her math homework

when the call cin, and he quickly excused himself to the restroom to answer.

"I'm in the men's restroom on the first floor of Wonderjoy Mall. Chere now. | need to see you!" This time,

Harry spoke before Caspian could get a word in.

"See me?" Caspian's anxiety rose at Harry's tone. "Is something wrong? Why the sudden urgency to meet?"

"You'll find out when you get here. Just calone. | chere with Cormac, and | don't want him to see you."

Harry hung up after his instructions.

Caspian ended the call, perplexed by Harry's urgency. Something must have happened.

"Elisa, a buddy askedto play sbasketball," Caspian lied. "Work on the problems yourself. I'll be back

soon."

"Who's asking you to play basketball at this hour?" Elisa asked, her confusion apparent.

"Just a friend."

"You're going out this late?" Mia, overhearing the conversation, cout worried.

"Mia, don't worry, I'm just going next door," Caspian reassured her as he made a quick exit. "You stay here and

take care of Elisa. I'll be right back."

Elisa shook her head with exasperation, "Harry always has a habit of wandering off on his own. Mia, you don't

need to bother about him. He's sneaked out plenty of times before, and he's proven that he won't get lost."

After Caspian left the neighborhood, he hailed a cab and headed straight to WonderJoy Mall. He had been

constantly on the phone with Harry, switching identities, although the two had never actually met. The prospect

of meeting his doppelganger face-to-face felt bizarrely surreal.

Indeed, the moment Harry appeared before him, Caspian was struck by the illusion of looking into a mirror. They

weren't just identical in face, but it seemed even their builds matched. No wonder the adults got them mixed up.

"Take off your shirt," Harry spoke up first, "it's twe switched back."

"Switchback?" Caspian was startled by the suggestion, "Why all of a sudden?"

"It turns out we don't need to anymore. Our goal was to bring our mom and your dad together, but that's off the

table now, so we need to switch back," Harry explained, barely masking his frustration.

"How come?" Caspian queried with a puzzled look.

"Why don't you go hand ask your dad?" Harry's mood was visibly souring. "We thought they were dating.

They seemed so close. But it was all a sham, and your dad doesn't even think highly of her. So, what's the

point?" As Harry spoke, his irritation grew. He pulled off his jacket and vented, "My mom is incredible, she has

plenty of suitors, she's not desperate. Why should she marry your dad, especially when there's not one sane

person in your family?" "You and your dad are crazy. Your granddad never stops badmouthing my mom. And that

Cormac of yours who looks all right on the surface also called her bad luck. And your grandmother, whom I've

never met, is surely no angel. Why should my mom marry into your family and suffer? I'll protect my mom

myself. Tell your dad to stay away from her once you get back!"

With that, Harry finished undressing and thrust the clothes into Caspian's hands, commanding, "Hurry up and

strip. We're switching back now!" Shocked, Caspian, who was usually in control of their interactions, suddenly

felt at a loss, "What exactly happened? How did my dad hurt mom?" "My mom had a car accident and almost

died, and it was your dad's fault. Is that clear enough for you?" Harry barked.

"A car accident?!" Caspian gasped in shock, "But how? Didn't Dad say he was going on a trip?"

"No kidding, you want the truth?" When Caspian didn't undress, Harry took matters into his own hands, stripping

off Caspian's jacket and putting it on himself. "Let's pretend nothing ever happened. Just stop looking for us,

okay? Goodbye, Caspian."

Annoyed, Harry bolted through the back door, leaving Caspian unable to catch up. Stunned, Caspian stood there,

staring at his reflection in the mirror. It took him several seconds to realize that, somehow, he had switched from

being Harry back to Caspian.

Now wasn't the tto think about that. The thought of Galatea being in an accident sent Caspian rushing out,

and sure enough, he spotted Cormac not too far from the restroom entrance.

"So, you've finally cooled down, Caspian?" Cormac asked anxiously as he approached.

"My mom was in an accident?" Caspian asked, his concern palpable.

Cormac was baffled by the question. Hadn't Caspian just visited the hospital to see her? Why was he asking this

now?

"Which hospital? Hurry up and takethere!" Caspian felt his heart racing, desperate to see his mother and

find out how she was doing.

"No, Caspian, what's going on? Memory issues again?" Cormac was confused. "Didn't you just cfrom the

hospital? As a doctor, | can tell you she needs rest. It's not good for her recovery to have visitors all the time."

'Did Harry visit her at the hospital? That's why | can't go?’

"Did my dad have something to do with my mom's accident?"

"What? Why would you think your dad had anything to do with it?"

Without a word, Caspian turned and walked away, leaving Cormac with no choice but to follow. "What's going

on?"

Caspian remained silent.

"Car accidents are tragic, but luckily she has a chance to recover-that's a silver lining, right? She'll get better, the

doctors said there won't be any lasting effects," Cormac tried to reassure him.

"I'll never see my mom again!" Caspian stopped in his tracks, his emotions flaring as he yelled at Cormac, "I hate

you people! All | wanted was for Galatea to be my mom. Why can't any of you agree to that? Why do you all

have to hurt her? | hate you! | hate all of you!"

With that, Caspian turned and ran off, his steps heavy, leaving Cormac with no choice but to chase after him.
