Chapter 65 Alaric's Dilemma
Harry's words rendered Alaric speechless and kept him awake all night as they replayed in his mind.
He had decided to get a marriage certificate with Galatea and she had refused him. He was indeed angry, but
now that he had calmed down, he realized that it was purely his own forceful decision. Regardless, Galatea had
just been discharged from the hospital. It wasn't right to leave her alone on the sidewalk, let alone in the rain.
Alaric, what's wrong with you? You're worse than a child!
Because of her frail health, Galatea slept until the next morning. Caspian, incredibly worried, had waited eagerly
for her to wake.
"Mom, you awake?" he asked as soon as he saw her stir.
Galatea nodded.
"Mom, how are you feeling? Are you still in pain?"
"No, I'm alright now. Just need to rest and heal slowly," Galatea said slowly. "I'll need to stay hfor a while.
Mia will definitely catch on, but I'll find a way to keep it from Elisa. Don't tell her, alright?" "I know," Caspian
replied, pausing for a moment before gathering the courage to ask, "Mom, did you get the marriage certificate
with Alaric?"
"What? Why would Harry suddenly ask that?" Galatea wondered, noticing the reaction. Caspian seemed to
already know the answer but quickly explained, "Mom, | was just asking."
Galatea smiled and said, "Don't worry, Harry. When | decide to get married, I'll definitely let you know in
advance, okay?"
"Okay."
Caspian did feel a bit down. He wasn't sure whether his dad had changed his mind or if his mom hadn't agreed.
It wasn't his place to ask more.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAt least for now, he was content to be by his mom's side. Since he becCaspian again, he had thought he
wouldn't see his mom anymore. "Con, hurry up and have breakfast. Get ready for school, or you'll be late."
"Okay!" Now, back as Harry, Caspian looked forward to sitting next to Elisa in class again.
After the two kids finished their breakfast, Mia saw them out the door. Harry had also finished his breakfast,
which Alaric had cooked himself.
"Let's go, Caspian. I'll take you to school," Alaric said, reaching for the backpack, but Harry snatched it away,
saying, "No need. You can assign a driver to me." "You don't want Dad to take you?"
"No more. | still prefer the driver Uncle to take me." Harry said, shouldering his backpack and walking out.
Alaric had no choice but to arrange a driver as Harry headed to school. Meanwhile, Alaric, holding Galatea's
phone, felt vexed.
He wanted to see Galatea, but after being rejected for a marriage certificate the day before, it would be too
embarrassing to show up. Better to leave her alone for a day.
So Alaric drove to the office. It had been more than a month since his last visit and the sudden return had the
employees on their toes. "Good morning, Mr. Alaric!"
As he walked by, the employees greeted him respectfully. Once in his office, Alaric immediately instructed Silas
Moon, "Send the word out. We have a meeting now."
The bids for the entertainment city project had been delayed over a month and could not be put off any longer.
The meeting lasted three or four hours. After a thorough analysis of the remaining six firms and various data
comparisons, three were eliminated, leaving Far East International among the final three. "The heads of our
engineering department can meet with the respective heads from these three companies," he announced.
"Understood, Mr. Alaric," the head of engineering responded promptly. "After the meetings, I'll report back to you
as soon as possible."
"Good, that's it for today's meeting."
After the meeting, Alaric glanced at his own cell phone and noticed there were no missed calls.
That infuriating woman. Her phone might be here, but she had already gone home. She wouldn't call him using
someone else's phone to ask.
A day went by and apart from the meeting, Alaric felt like he'd accomplished next to nothing at work. As the time
to leave approached, he couldn't sit still any longer. He grabbed his car keys and strode out. He drove to
Galatea's apartment. It took a while to psych himself up before knocking on the door, and Mia was the one who
answered.
"Is Galatea here?" Alaric asked, feeling somewhat awkward.
"Yeah." Alaric called out to the study, "Stellan, someone's looking for you."
"Oh, coming." Galatea emerged from the study and seemed just as embarrassed to see Alaric.
"Mia, we've run out of groceries. Could you go to the market and buy some?" Galatea sent Mia away on purpose.
Alaric was unpredictable, and in case he lost his temper again, she didn't want Mia to witness it. "Sure, Stellan.
You two chat." With that, Mia left immediately.
Once Mia was out, it was just the two of them. After what had happened the previous day, they truly didn't know
what to say to each other.
"Let's pretend yesterday never happened. Neither of us is allowed to bring it up again!" Alaric's tone was as
imperious as ever. Yesterday had been the most embarrassing day of his life, and it was something he never
wanted to remember! "Fine." That suited Galatea just fine.
"Here's your phone." Alaric handed her cell phone back to her. "Try not to be so careless in the future."
Blaming her for being careless? He was the one who had practically thrown her out of the car in his rush. How
could she have remembered anything?
Galatea took her phone and said, "Thank you, Mr. Knight, for going out of your way to return my phone. Even
though I can't go to the hospital to work, | can still do swork. Like before, I'll cto your office for

"Good, you remember." Alaric acknowledged. "Also, this apartment is rundown and small, the amenities around
here are subpar, and it's not suitable for recovery. I've bought you a place near Nexus Innovations. Pack up and
move there as soon as you can."
He bought her a house?
"No need. Even though this place is old, it's quiet and suitable for recovery," Galatea assured him. "Don't worry,
even though it's far from your office, | won't be late for our acupuncture sessions."
"You really don't appreciate what's good for you, do you?" Alaric couldn't help but scold again. "Do you even
know your status? Right now, to the outside world, you are my fiancée. If people found out that the woman I'm
about to marry lives in such a dump, what do you think that says about us? So there's no room for negotiation
about the house. You need to move in immediately!"
The man spoke with the sdomineering tone, always so fond of barking orders!
"Fine." Since he put it that way, if staying in this dump embarrassed him, what choice did Galatea have?
"Just givethe address, and | will move in after | pack up my things," Galatea said. "If Mr. Alaric doesn't have
any more business, I'm going to get srest." Was she really giving him the boot?
