Brad had no idea what had happened on Nadine's side, but Gigi's description gave him enough to piece things together. He figured she must have been frightened, and his expression darkened in an instant.
He coldly asked Gigi over the phone, "What were you doing when she was surrounded? Why didn't you help her?" Gigi was dumbfounded. "How is this my fault, Brad? By the tI arrived, the crowd had already scattered. Sebastian helped her get out of that situation. Honestly, if I hadn't realized the person holding Nadine wasn't you, I wouldn't have bothered to call!" She was there to pick someone up from the airport, not deal with her brother's temper.
Brad grunted and hung up the phone. He then turned to his driver and ordered, "Head to the nearest hospital from the airport." The driver glanced at the road ahead and hesitated before responding, "Mr.
Hamilton, we can't turn around here." Brad shot him a cold look. "I'll drive!" Sebastian rushed Nadine to the hospital. She had minor abrasions all over her body, none of which were serious enough to notice without a close look.
Still, he couldn't stop worrying and arranged for a specialist to check on Nadine. After the thorough check-up, Nadine finally relaxed and drifted off to sleep in the hospital bed.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSebastian sat in the chair beside her hospital bed, going through swork. He had silenced his phone so it wouldn't disturb Nadine.
He had a lot of resentment toward Brad. He wanted nothing more than to take Nadine and Sean away to Chillnada, far from Brad's reach. But this was Nadine's home, the place where she had grown up, and it was clear she couldn't bring herself to leave it.
Besides, Adam adored both her and Sean. She didn't have a strong enough reason to uproot everything and just leave.
As Sebastian watched the woman sleeping peacefully in bed, he fell into deep thought. How he wished he could whisk her away from all the chaos to a place where no one knew them and they could start a new life together.
Unfortunately, Nadine wouldn't agree to it. No matter how much he wanted it, he had to respect her wishes.
While he was lost in thought, the sound of steady footsteps echoed in the hallway outside. Initially, the steps were soft, but they grew heavier as if the person was pacing back and forth, looking for something.
Soon, the door to the hospital room opened, and Brad walked in.
Noticing Nadine asleep on the bed he refrained from speaking aloud, Instead, he shifted his gaze to Sebastian and gestured for him to step outside.
Sebastian glanced at him and smirked. "Fine, let's talk." He followed Brad out of the room.
There were plenty of patients in the hospital, and almost every room was occupied. The pair walked a fair distance down the corridor before finding a quiet spot.
Brad stopped in his tracks, spun around, and locked eyes witho M ve.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSebastian, anger flickering in his gaze. "What's your problem?" He hated it-hated that Sebastian had been there for Nadine when he hadn't been. He hated himself for not being there when she needed him.
But at that moment, he hated himself even more. He hated himself for using Sean to threaten her, for not caring about her well-being, and for leaving her alone at the airport. If he hadn't, none of this would have happened.
Sebastian sensed something in the troubled expression on Brad's face. He c
to a halt about three feet away and casually lit a cigarette resting his ve right elbow on a window ledge as he took slow drags.
After a while, he looked at Brad with an almost condescending gaze, as though he was looking at a child.
His voice was calm but pointed as he said, "It might not be my problem, but if hadn't been there, Nadine would've been hurt today and it wouldn't have been as minor as a few scratches." Those ruthless reporters would stop at nothing to get a headline. If Sebastian hadn't shown up when he did, they might've stripped Nadine of her clothes.
