Chapter 344 Desperation

Just because she guessed Nathaniel would help Abigail get out of trouble, she caused such a big problem for

him.

Was she trying to force him to the brink of death?

Since Jacob's car accident, he had been tolerating her, but her pride knew no bounds.

Today, the fear he felt was real. If he had made even the slightest mistake, he might have lost her forever. She

still hated him and took revenge in the most frightening way possible. Nathaniel couldn't bear the thought of her

falling into a deep valley and dying miserably in front of him.

He was already at the edge of his sanity, pushed to the limit by Frey.

"You can't go on without eating. Get up and have something to drink."

Frey lay motionless, staring at the gauze decoration above her head. Nathaniel, frustrated, stood up and took a

large sip of the soup.

He leaned over, grabbed her chin, and forced her to open her mouth, pouring the soup in.

Frey, unprepared, choked and tried to hit him, but Nathaniel held her tightly, lifting her head.

He kissed her hard, the taste of soup and despair mingling between them. They fought like monsters, biting and

torturing each other, neither willing to let the other off easily.

Moonlight was obscured by drifting clouds, and desperate gasps filled the bedroom. They were breaking each

other apart, piece by piece.

The next morning was cloudy. During breakfast, Nathaniel and Frey were still absent. Peyton, restless, stood up

but was stopped by Koen. "Are you trying to push her to the brink of death?" she growled.

Koen led Peyton outside to the garden.

Lighting a cigarette, he exhaled deeply. "It's not Mr. Nathaniel forcing Ms. Frey to death. It's Ms. Frey forcing Mr.

Nathaniel."

"Can't you see it? Frey wanted to push Mr. Nathaniel to the edge."

Peyton's anger flared. "If Nathaniel hadn't harmed the Gomez family three years ago, would this be happening?"

Koen looked at the lake view, his voice hoarse. "If Killian hadn't forced Mr. Nathaniel's mother to die in the red

light district over ten years ago, making him an orphan, do you think we'd be here today?"

Peyton was momentarily speechless.

Koen had kept silent for long, but everyone blamed Mr. Nathaniel. Who should Mr. Nathaniel blame? These two

should never have met and fallen in love.

"Not every man could do such a thing. If Ms. Frey didn't love Mr. Nathaniel, you can feedto the dogs!"

Peyton froze, then chased after Koen. "The dogs wouldn't even spare a glance at you! You're too filthy!" Koen

stopped, straightening his back.

Peyton regretted her harsh words.

Koen had never done anything to harm her it was mainly because he and Nathaniel were in the sgroup that

she believed these men, who had attacked her friends, deserved to die.

She had just blurted out those words without expecting Koen to take them seriously.

Koen turned and walked towards Peyton. His long, strong strides brought him to her in just a few steps.

This man, always gentle and elegant

in her presence, had left Peyton with the impression that Koen, as Nathaniel's assistant, was nothing more than a

workplace elite.

Now, however, he was covered in a layer of frost, his presence so powerful that Peyton was momentarily

stunned.

He raised his hand, grabbed her shoulders, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her fiercely.
