Chapter 583 "Is that a yes or a no?" Leah narrowed her eyes.

"He was here a couple of days ago, but he left last night." "Is that so?" Leah responded indifferently, as if it didn't matter. "Just as well, because I have something to say to you." Noelle didn't refuse. She simply stepped aside to let her in.

Dressed in a custom-tailored dress and leather shoes, Leah took one step inside and immediately frowned. She swept her gaze across the room, her dissatisfaction evident.

"Would you like something to drink?" Noelle asked.

Leah didn't answer. Instead, her gaze slowly settled on Rosie.

Despite her young age, Rosie had the sharp intuition that all children possessed. Thus, she could tell at a glance who was kind and who was not.

As Leah scrutinized her, Rosie instinctively shrank behind Noelle, peeking out with wary eyes.

Seeing this, the disdain in Leah's gaze deepened.

Noelle gently patted Rosie on the shoulder. "Rosie, be a good girl and wait forin your room, okay?" Rosie didn't respond. She simply shook her head.

Noelle smiled at her. "Don't worry. Go ahead." Rosie was still reluctant, but she didn't want to make things difficult for Noelle. After casting one last glance at Leah, she turned and headed to her room.

Noelle waited until the door closed before going to the kitchen to pour a glass of water, which she placed in front of Leah.

"I apologize for the mess. I haven't had tto tidy up. May I ask why you've come?" Leah let out a sharp laugh. "You're asking me? Shouldn't you already know the answer to that?" "You're here to see Dylan, right? He left last night—" "Yes, that had been my original intention. But now that I've seen you, I realize it's better to have a chat with you face-to-face." Leah had never liked Noelle. That had been true in the past, and even more so now.

"I was wondering why Dylan's been completely unshakable these past two years. No matter how many women I introduced to him, he didn't even bat an eye. Turns out you've got him under skind of spell." Leah's words barely landed before Noelle let out a soft chuckle.

"Mrs. Pritchett, you're givingtoo much credit. Dylan is your son, so you should know him better than I do. Plus, he's a grown man. He can make his own decisions about what he wants."

"By decision, do you mean him throwing away everything he has just to play house with you? Leah asked N through gritted teeth. "I just don't understand! What on earth does he see in a selfish woman like you?

"Do you know what's happening to his company right now? He's about to go bankrupt! I was against him going into business from the very start. He was his grandfather's pride, his greatest hope. And what did he do? He threw away his job at the University to chase after sentrepreneurial dream.

"Do you have any idea what these past two years have been like for him? Every single day, he's had to force a simile, play nice with people, En and drink himself sick at night to the point of him coughing up blood! He built that company from the ground up, piece by piece! "And now? He's throwing it all away for you. Do you really think that if the company collapses, he can just waltz back to the university like nothing ever happened? You're being naive! After all this, do you honestly think they'd take him back?"
