Chapter 100

The dinner was wrapped up quite harmoniously. Amara personally helped Kevin back to his room before heading

to the balcony on the second floor. She opened the window and gazed at the deep blue night sky, letting the

night breeze wash over her.

"Thanks for today."

Finnian's voice emerged from behind. Amara turned around to see him with his hands tucked into his pockets,

slowly approaching. He gazed down at her, his eyes revealing nothing of his emotions.

Amara nodded, replying in a calm voice, "It was nothing, really. No need to thank me."

This was the first tthey spoke face-to-face since their encounter at the club. Although they had crossed

paths multiple times at the film set and the Everly estate, they had acted like strangers, not even exchanging

greetings.

Talking to him felt a bit awkward for Amara. After speaking, she turned back to the night view, acting indifferent

to his presence and silently wishing he would leave soon.

Finnian didn't leave right away. He just stared at her gentle profile, recalling how she had been during dinner.

In front of others, Amara would slightly lift her mask to eat, carefully using her utensils to pick up a small bite of

food and slide it under the mask, chewing slowly. Hence, the way she had the meal was expressly steady and

quiet.

Finnian didn't know why he was thinking about her eating habits, which seemed insignificant. Amara wasn't

particularly important to him, but her actions today had caught him off guard. So, after leaving the dining room,

he felt compelled to thank her.

After expressing his gratitude, Finnian remained silent and stayed by her side, not moving away immediately.

The atmosphere grew increasingly awkward. Amara acted nonchalant, but inside she was cringing. Why wasn't

he leaving?

Silent, Finnian continued to gaze at the top of her head, his gaze deep and unreadable.

Just then, the sound of high heels clicking on the floor grew nearer. Both turned their heads instinctively to see

Liliana approaching.

She looped her arm through Finnian's and spoke with a hint of a playful whine, "Finn, where have you been? |

couldn't find you downstairs."

Then she turned to Amara with a

smile. "Ms. Sullivan, thank you for et

steppi

in forearlier. | wouldn't

have known what to do in such an awkward situation."

Liliana was a smart woman. She understood that what had happened would linger in everyone's minds, so she

chose not to shy away from it Instead, she mentioned it in a self-deprecating manner, hoping it would downplay

the incident in others' eyes.

Amara nodded. "I didn't do much, no need to thank me."

With Liliana now present, Amara saw no point in waiting for Finnian to leave first. She gracefully gave them

space, turning to head downstairs.

As Amara left, Liliana asked casually, "Finn, what were you and Ms. Sullivan talking about?"

Finnian didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Why did you chere with Hogan?"

His tone wasn't accusatory, but his face was devoid of expression, and his demeanor was aloof. This made

Liliana a bit uneasy.

She thought for a moment, and then lowered her head as she replied, "Finn, | know you're upset. | regretted it as

soon as | arrived, but it was too late. Things already have turned out like that. Today, I ran into Hogan outside. He

suggested bringingalong to the dinner so | could get to know the Everly family better.

| know Mr. Kevin Everly doesn't particularly like me, so | hoped to win him over

with swell-prepared compliments. But things didn't go as planned."
