Chapter 30

Later, she remembered that Finnian and Dorian were pretty close. Because of that connection, Elysia had seen

Finnian more often than she had.

Amara gave a wry smile and walked over, saying, "Hey, Ely, what's going on?"

"Nothing," Elysia replied sarcastically. "Just trying to enjoy a dinner with my boyfriend, but then his 'sister' shows

up pretending to be sick and acting all needy. Should have checked the date before stepping out today."

Dorian's expression darkened. "You really can't stand Jessica, can you?"

"Yeah, | can't stand it!" Elysia's voice was tinged with agitation. "Showa woman who can put up with a

‘sister’ who isn't even related by blood!"

Dorian let out a laugh before replying disdainfully, "Well, you could always find yourself a 'brother' who isn't

related by blood. Am | stopping you?"

Elysia was rendered speechless, her face turning pale.

The truth was, Dorian didn't love her, and he had never hidden that fact. She was in the sboat as Amara.

So, what was she supposed to do now?

"Ely, don't be upset," Amara said softly, patting Elysia's head. She then turned to Dorian and coldly stated, "She

needs to rest now. Please leave."

Dorian's expression grew darker, his face looking rather intimidating. He had met Finnian's wife twice. Once at

Finnian and Amara's wedding, and once at Grace's funeral.

In his memory, Amara was a timid woman, not much of a talker, probably due to her self-consciousness about

her scars. But now, she seemed different.

"And why should I leave?" he retorted icily. "This is my girlfriend's home."

Amara fixed him with a cold stare, tempted to say, "If she's your girlfriend, why are you hurting her?" But she

knew it was pointless.

She walked over, opened the door, and repeated, "Please leave, or I'll call the police."

Dorian and Finnian were both taken aback. What had happened to this woman? Her personality seemed to have

really changed.

Despite their dissatisfaction, both men prided themselves on being respectable. With Amara going to such

lengths, they couldn't very well stay any longer. So, with grim expressions, they left.

Amara noticed Finnian's gaze was now colder than it had been a few days ago. She thought their relationship,

while never great, hadn't been this bad before. So why the change?

But she didn't dwell on it. Watching Elysia's tears fall after Dorian left, she suddenly understood what Keith had

felt all those years ago.

She sighed, and walked over; wrapping an arm around Elysia's shoulders, she said, "Ely, if you really can't take it

anymore, maybe it's tto end things."

Elysia looked up, tears still in her eyes, surprised at Amara's words. It had been nearly two years, and this was

the first tAmara had suggested breaking up.

Amara pondered for a moment and said, "If it were before, | wouldn't have advised you like this. But now, I'm

getting a divorce. I've felt what it's like to cut away a part of yourself that's gone rotten. It hurts, it really does.

But once the pain subsides, there's relief. | hope you'll think about that."

Elysia began to cry again, hugging Amara tightly as she addressed, "Ama, you're the only one who truly cares

about me."

Amara, who had always been so timid and shy, had somehow found the courage to drive Dorian away when

Elysia whispered that she had no desire to see him now.
