Chapter 123
Gloria smiled. "Mr. Dane lefthis number the last the cover. He just called and mentioned you two
were drinking tonight, so he askedto make a hangover remedy, so you wouldn't wake up with a headache in
the morning."
"| see... Thank you. | appreciate it."
After closing the door, Josephine stared down at the bowl in her hands, feeling a bit sorry for Ethan. He clearly
didn't like her-he had made that painfully obvious when he recoiled from her touch like it was something
repulsive. Yet, for the sake of his role as the male lead in her film, he had no choice but to play along, to act like
he cared, to try and win her over.
It was almost laughable. It reminded her of the way she had to force herself to go along with Matthew's requests
just to secure the cinema slots she wanted. Life really was exhausting.
still, she drank the remedy. Her health hadn't been great lately, and the last thing she wanted was another trip
to the hospital.
The next morning, she allowed herself to sleep in. Even after waking up, she lay in bed lazily, unwilling to move.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThen, she decided to make a phone call. "Have you decided on Jasmine's role yet?" she asked Mason.
Mason responded, "We've narrowed it down to two options. One is the granddaughter of an elderly man, and the
other is a supermarket cashier."
Josephine thought for a second before saying, "Sendthe details for both roles. I'll let Jasmine choose. It'll
show that we respect her input.”
"Got it."
Once she received the information, she immediately forwarded it to Jasmine. Only then did she finally drag
herself out of bed, throw on a robe, and head downstairs.
The moment she stepped into the living room, she froze. Ethan was here. Josephine stared at him, dumbfounded.
What was he doing here? And why did he always show up without giving her a heads-up? It was almost as if he
owned the place.
"I spoke with Nick last night, Josephine. He's free all day today, so | figured I'd take you to meet him."
All her irritation evaporated in an instant. Her eyes lit up, and she ran a hand through her messy, sleep-tousled
hair. "Givea minute-I'll go get changed."
"Take your time," Ethan said, glancing at his watch. "You've got over an hour to get ready, so have some
breakfast first."
Josephine's mood instantly lifted
when she realized she had plenty of time. She asked Gloria to brew a cup of coffee for Ethan before hurrying
upstairs to do her makeup. Meeting Nick was a big deal. She couldn't afford to dress too casually, but she also
didn't want to show up looking like a walking advertisement for a multi-level marketing scheme.
In the end, she settled on a soft, elegant look an ivory silk dress with delicate ties at the waist, layered under a
beige knit cardigan. A pair of wide-leg white trousers added an effortless touch, and she styled her long hair into
a simple updo, finishing the look with pearl earrings and light makeup.
By the tshe cback downstairs, she was ready to go. Ethan, however, was sitting on the couch like he
owned the place, casually flipping through a newspaper. "We're in no rush. Gloria made breakfast. You should eat
before we head out."
Josephine couldn't help but feel something was off. This was her house, and Gloria was her housekeeper. Yet,
Ethan was sitting there, making himself at home, giving orders like he belonged.
But she was hungry, so she sat down at the table and started eating while checking the message Jasmine had
sent her. "Either role is fine. I'll let you decide, Ms. Dunn."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJasmine was more laidback
compared to Matthew. Josephine had a good impression of her, so she gave her a little advice. "The supermarket
cashier has more. screentime, but there aren't many standout moments. The
granddaughter role has fel.r
scenes, but they're emotionally intense and require strong acting skills. It's up to you."
A moment later, Jasmine replied, "I'll take the cashier role."
Huh? Most people would've picked the second one.
Just then, she received a new message. "Well, where's my album promo post?"
